About Dfvag

DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG is a digital direct insurer. It offers supplementary health insurance (dental, hospital, outpatient, nursing care, daily sickness benefit and international travel health), accident, liability, household, legal protection and pet insurance, including health and liability cover for dogs.

Its products are self-developed tariffs sold directly to private customers in Germany, with customers managing contracts and submitting claims through an online portal and app.

The company was founded on 1 April 2007 in Frankfurt am Main, where it is headquartered. It was listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 2018 and delisted in 2024. It entered the Austrian market in 2021 with pet health insurance for dogs and cats. It reports more than 500,000 customers and over 200 employees, and its open roles include digital commerce, direct sales and CRM, IT operations and claims.
