About Defendec

Defendec builds wireless surveillance hardware and software for perimeter intrusion detection. Its system combines a battery-powered camera detector triggered by a PIR sensor, a Bridge communication gateway using GSM or long-range radio, and a cloud Command Centre where AI object detection classifies people and vehicles and raises alarms.

Customers are defence forces, border guards and police agencies; the company states its system is used for securing NATO and European Union external borders. Revenue comes from selling the detectors, bridges and Command Centre deployments, with installations and partners in over 35 countries.

The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. It also has an office in Dripping Springs, Texas, US, and an office in the UK. Its products are designed and produced in-house, and the company reports patented technology.

Product: Wireless battery-powered camera detectors, a mesh/long-range communication Bridge, and a cloud Command Centre with AI object detection for intrusion alarms.
