Datakit

Datakit develops CAD data exchange technology. Its SDK extracts and writes geometric data, PMI and feature data for 3D application developers. Its standalone CrossManager converter and CrossCad plug-ins for SolidWorks and Rhino convert files between formats. Over 50 native or standard 2D and 3D formats are supported, including STEP, IGES, DXF, CATIA, NX, Creo, Inventor, Revit and IFC.

Customers are 3D engineering software vendors that integrate the SDK into their products, and engineering design offices, including subcontractors, equipment manufacturers and prime contractors, that use the conversion software. Licences are offered as single-user rights, or as server-managed user rights, and a one-year rental licence is available for file migrations.

Datakit was founded in 1996 in Lyon, France, and is organised as a SCOP, a cooperative and participatory company in which most employees are shareholders. Its research and development centre is based in one location. The company is a member of AFNOR and takes part in STEP standardisation work through the LOTAR-NIST implementor forum and ISO working on STEP and 3D PDF. It regularly hires IT engineers, interns and other profiles for its development, sales and support teams.
