About Data People Connected
Data People Connected develops Buttress, an open-source data access layer (AGPL-3.0) that checks each data request against access policies before releasing data, and nodeStream, a commercial platform that runs workflows between organisations and validates suppliers in a buyer's chain. Together they form a "digital spine" that connects existing systems without replacing them. Project Q, an order, stock and customer system built on Buttress, is in live commercial use.
Customers include councils, housing providers, estates teams, energy operators and suppliers. The company's initial market is organisations that manage supplier information across complex networks; it starts with an anchor organisation and expands through its suppliers and partners, with each organisation that joins paying a recurring licence.
The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Liverpool, England. It has received £750,000 of Innovate UK funding and was selected for the Smart Cities cohort of the Horizon Europe-funded ACCEND Scaleup 2026 accelerator. It is seeking approximately £5 million for market entry and growth.
Product: Buttress open-source data access layer and nodeStream commercial workflow and supplier validation platform, plus the Project Q application.
