About Dash Design
DASH Design runs community events and weekend-long design sprints that bring students and professionals together to work on real-world challenges from partner companies. Its formats include the 48-hour DASH Sprint, evening keynote events called DASH Bits, and studio visits such as the DASH Design Crawl.
Partners are companies that bring challenges to the sprints and gain access to a diverse talent pool. The website also offers a volunteer programme. The company describes its focus as the intersection of AI and human-centred design.
DASH began at Aalto University in 2017 with the aim of bringing design thinking into Finnish business and technology. The company is registered in Espoo, Finland, and its events take place across Helsinki and Espoo. The website states over 1800 participants over nine years, participants from 70+ nationalities and 40+ disciplines, and it lists an upcoming DASH Sprint from 19 to 21 March 2027.
