About Dartington Service Design Lab
Dartington Service Design Lab is a research and service design team that works to improve children's outcomes by improving the services and systems that support them. Its work covers designing and facilitating systemic change programmes, redesigning public services, acting as a learning partner, evaluating programmes and place-based initiatives, and running participatory research and evidence reviews.
Its customers include local authorities, children's services, health systems and charities, as well as funders and other partners. Services are delivered as partnership projects, offered under the categories listed on its website.
The Lab was launched in September 2017 as a new incarnation of the Dartington Social Research Unit, which was established in Devon in 1960. In October 2020 it was incorporated as a company limited by a single share, wholly owned by the Warren House Group at Dartington. The team works remotely across the UK from a base at Buckfast Abbey, near Totnes. It is currently hiring a Systemic Change Lead.
