About cryptoescudo.pt
CryptoEscudo (CESC) is a cryptocurrency with its own blockchain, described on its website as planned and launched by Portuguese citizens. Transactions run on a decentralised network secured by cryptography, and the wallet is installed locally without registration or personal data.
The project aims for individuals, businesses and institutions in Portugal and abroad to use CESC as a payment method and as a means of savings or investment. Its stated goals include distributing 15 CESC to each Portuguese citizen who can prove citizenship, a process begun on 25 April 2014.
The planned total supply is 1 000 000 000 CESC, of which 45% is pre-mined: 220 000 000 CESC held in reserve and 225 000 000 CESC for distribution to Portuguese citizens. The project states a target parity of 1000 euros per CESC within 5 to 25 years.
