About Crime Science Technology
Crime Science Technology (CST) develops and markets security features for identity documents and banknotes, based on its proprietary O.V.M (Optical Variable Material) platform of inks and polymers. It also develops forensic technologies for revealing traces and clues used in criminal investigations, including its Lumicyano technology.
CST sells its technologies to governments, institutions and industrial partners that deploy them in identity systems, and it is active in more than 30 countries. Its forensic technologies have been validated by the French Interior Ministry and are used daily by forensic experts in France.
The company was founded in 2010 by Cosimo Prete, a forensic science expert, and is headquartered in Lille, France. It also operates an industrial facility in the Paris area. CST holds more than 50 patents, is certified as an Intergraf Security Supplier, and is a member of the Secure Identity Alliance and the Document Security Alliance. It was named EY Scale-up of the Year in 2025.
