About CR3-Kaffeeveredelung M. Hermsen
CR3-Kaffeeveredelung M. Hermsen GmbH processes green coffee, mainly through decaffeination and steaming using several methods. Its CO2-based decaffeination process, patented in 1987, has been offered by CR3 since the plant was built in 1988 in Bremen. Services also include storage and transport of green coffee, sea container handling, and research and development focused on optimising existing processes and developing new ones.
The company serves the coffee industry worldwide. Its CR3-Analytik unit, a specialist in coffee and caffeine analysis, tests green and roasted coffee samples for more than 120 coffee-related parameters, including caffeine content, residual moisture and pesticides.
The company was founded in 1970 by Manfred Hermsen and is part of the Hermsen group, which has worked in the coffee industry for more than 90 years. It is based in Bremen, where CR3-Analytik employs more than 30 people and carries out over 150,000 analyses a year. CR3 is currently hiring a working student for digital production documentation and an electrical operations technician in Bremen.
