About Coolbrook
Coolbrook develops RotoDynamic Technology, which uses an electric motor to drive a rotor that transfers energy directly into a gas and heats it without combustion. The technology is offered as the RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) for industrial process heat, designed for outlet temperatures up to 1,700 °C, and the RotoDynamic Reactor (RDR) for electric steam cracking in olefin production.
Its customers are industrial producers in cement, iron and steel, aluminum and petrochemicals. The first commercial RDH is in delivery to Adani Cement's Boyareddypalli plant in India. The company works with industrial, technology and academic partners, including ABB, Linde Engineering, Cambridge, Oxford and Ghent University.
Coolbrook was founded in 2011 in Helsinki, Finland, which is its headquarters. It also operates a MW-scale pilot plant at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen, the Netherlands, and has operations in the United Kingdom and India. The team is about 40 people, and the company holds 22 patent families. Kim Hedegaard was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2026.
Product: RotoDynamic Heater (electric process heat up to 1,700 °C) and RotoDynamic Reactor (electric steam cracking) based on RotoDynamic Technology.
