Confo Therapeutics

Confo Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech company that develops small-molecule and antibody-based therapies targeting G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) with its proprietary ConfoBody® technology. Its lead candidate, CFTX-1554, is a non-opioid treatment for neuropathic pain that targets the angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R) and is in Phase 2. Other programs address obesity, post-bariatric hypoglycemia and hypoparathyroidism.

The company partners with pharmaceutical companies that license its proprietary approach to develop novel product candidates, and it is backed by pharma partners and an international consortium of life science investors.

Confo was spun out of Professor Jan Steyaert's lab at the VUB and VIB in Flanders. Its labs are located in Ghent, Belgium, and its leadership includes CEO Cedric Ververken and CSO Christel Menet.
