ComAp designs control hardware and software for power generation and energy management. Its product range includes gen-set and paralleling controllers, microgrid and battery energy storage (BESS) controllers, marine engine and power management controllers, remote displays, switchgear protections and software tools. Applications cover hybrid energy management, CHP, bi-fuel and hydrogen, fuel cells, SCADA and energy market integration.
Its customers are utilities and operators in industrial, commercial power, rental, mining, construction, telecom, oil and gas, datacentre and marine segments. Controllers are also aimed at packagers and integrators of gen-sets and BESS systems, and the company sells through a network of local representatives and distributors.
ComAp was founded in 1991 in Prague by three friends and is headquartered there. The company states it has more than 500 employees and offices in multiple countries, with about 40% of staff in research and development. It is owned by the founders' families.
