About cashgenerator.co.uk
Cash Generator buys pre-owned products from members of the public for instant cash and resells them, alongside new high street products, at discounted prices. Sellers can pay an additional fee to buy an item back within a 28-day option period, during which the item is held in storage. Unsold items are sold through the online store or the shop floor. Product categories on the website include mobile phones, computing, gaming, jewellery and watches, sound and vision, musical instruments, DIY tools, smart watches and cameras.
Customers are members of the public who sell or buy goods. Revenue comes from the resale of goods and from buy-back fees. The online store offers click and collect from Cash Generator stores.
Cash Generator began as a single store in Bolton, Greater Manchester, in 1994 and started franchising in 1997. It has a network of franchisees operating more than 100 stores across England, Wales and Scotland. Since a franchisee-led buyout completed in 2020, the business has been owned and operated by its franchisees as a consortium. Current job listings are for sales advisors, buyers, assistant managers, a store supervisor and a sales apprenticeship at store locations including Wigan, St Helens, Chorley, Leigh, Harpurhey, Partick, Clydebank, Greenock, Kirkcaldy and Barnsley.
Product: Retail of pre-owned and new consumer goods, instant cash purchases from the public, 28-day buy-back option, and an online store with click and collect.
