About Cambridge GaN Devices
Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD) is a fabless semiconductor company that develops GaN-based power devices. Its core product is the ICeGaN 650 V enhancement-mode GaN power IC, offered in several series and packages, including a 650 V device for automotive applications.
The company targets power electronics designers in data centre and server power, motor drives, solar PV inverters, EV traction inverters and on-board chargers, and telecom and UPS systems. Its products are sold through distributors and direct contact, and it announced a long-term collaboration with NXP Semiconductors to develop GaN-based system solutions.
CGD is a spin-out of the University of Cambridge. The website lists offices in Cambridge, UK, and Taipei, Hong Kong and a Linkou (Taiwan) role, and its open positions include engineering, applications and operations roles. It reports Series A, B and C private investment rounds and a seed fund, and names Fabio Necco as CEO.
Product: ICeGaN 650 V e-mode GaN power ICs (single-chip GaN HEMT with integrated gate driver features) in DFN packages.
