About bushtheatre.co.uk
Bush Theatre stages and produces new plays and develops theatre makers. It runs two performance spaces, the Holloway Theatre and the Studio, and a bar and café in its building on Uxbridge Road.
Its customers are theatre audiences, writers and theatre makers, and local community groups. Revenue comes from ticket sales, hire of its spaces for events, and bar and café trade. It is a registered charity that also relies on donations and memberships, and its artist development programmes include the Bush Writers' Group and two Young Companies.
The theatre began in 1972 in a small room above a pub on Shepherd's Bush Green and moved in 2011 to the old library on Uxbridge Road, which reopened in 2017 after redevelopment. It states that it has produced more than 500 premieres. Taio Lawson joined as Artistic Director and Co-CEO in 2025, and the theatre is currently recruiting a Head of Operations.
Product: New theatre productions, artist development programmes, and hire of performance and event spaces
