About blitzer.de

Eifrig Media GmbH operates the Blitzer.de app, which warns drivers in real time, visually and acoustically, about speed cameras, accidents, traffic jams, construction sites and other hazards nearby. Users report and confirm hazards, and a traffic editorial team processes reports received through the apps and through WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Telegram. The PRO version adds additional features and is available for Android Auto, with Apple CarPlay in beta in 2025. The company also offers the CamSam and CamSam PLUS apps in foreign app stores.

The customers are individual drivers. The company sells a free app and paid PRO (formerly PLUS) versions to them, and the paid app is the main offer on the website.

The company's history goes back to 1997, when Matthias Eifrig launched radarfalle.de. The Blitzer.de website went online in 2009 and the Blitzer.de app was released in the German Apple App Store on 1 October 2010. The website states that more than 5 million active users rely on the app.
