About Black Forest Labs
Black Forest Labs builds generative AI models, including the FLUX family for image generation and FLUX 3, a multimodal model that generates video, audio, images and action predictions. Models are offered through a hosted API, a browser playground, and open weights that customers can run on their own infrastructure.
Customers include developers, product teams, agencies and enterprises. API use is pay-as-you-go per generated output, while open-weights and enterprise access are sold under licence with custom pricing. The company also offers rights to use model outputs as AI training data.
Founded in 2024 by Robin Rombach, Andreas Blattmann and Patrick Esser, the company has labs in Freiburg and San Francisco. It reports $450M in funding raised and a $3.25B valuation, and lists 13 open roles across research, engineering, product, go-to-market and marketing.
Product: FLUX image and video generation models (including FLUX 3) available via pay-as-you-go API, playground and open-weights licences.
