bitkasten.de

bitkasten GmbH operates a digital post platform for delivering confidential documents such as payslips, contracts and certificates to recipients instead of printing and posting them. Senders can submit documents by API, upload or print data stream, and delivery can be digital or hybrid via print. The platform also includes electronic signatures (including qualified electronic signatures), structured forms with returned data, and a long-term document archive.

Customers are companies and municipalities that regularly send personnel post, typically HR and payroll teams, as well as IT and compliance functions. Recipients access documents through an app or the web, and the mailbox stays with the person after they leave the employer. The website lists a free tier, bitkasten Light, at 0.00 € per month, and a Premium tier at 17.99 € per month that includes scanning of up to 20 incoming letters per month. Amadeus FiRe AG is named as a customer.

The company is based in Nürnberg. The website states that 400k employees use bitkasten and reports a 99% recipient activation rate. The platform is hosted in German data centres and holds a BVA authorisation certificate for the online ID function of the German identity card. The management team includes CEO Michael Mews and CTO Stefan Popp, and an advisory board chaired by Marco Moser. The website describes the company as being in a growth and expansion phase.
