About Biofish

BioFish is a Norwegian independent producer of smolt and post-smolt, young salmon sold for seawater growout. Production takes place at a post-smolt facility based on recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology. The process uses both fresh and sea water, and fish are moved to wellboats by gravity rather than pumps.

Customers are industry players in salmon farming. The company sells post-smolt under supply agreements with set volumes and fish weights; announced contracts include about 170,000 to 180,000 post-smolt of 250 to 300 grams for delivery in August 2024. The parent company is Biofish Holding AS.

BioFish was founded in 2016 and is registered in Tørvikbygd. Its facility is located at Ljones in Western Norway, in production area PO 3, which has high farming density. The company states that it is focused on scaling production in 2024 and 2025.
