About Baufritz (UK)
Baufritz plans and builds individually designed prefabricated timber houses, marketed for healthy living and sustainable materials. Its building shells, including windows, exterior doors and a large part of the pre-installation, are prefabricated in its production plant in Erkheim, Bavaria, which the company says produces four to five houses per week. Insulation is made from wood shavings, and the company states it avoids PU foam when installing windows and interior doors.
Customers are private families building single-family and multi-family houses, as well as owners of existing buildings who plan extensions, redevelopment or modernisation. The company sells through regional advisers and offers catalogues, a house configurator and a modernisation check. Its house offers start from 279,000 euros as a shell house.
The group describes itself as a family business founded in 1896 with about 580 employees. The UK entity BAUFRITZ (UK) LTD. was founded in 2006 and is registered in Cambridge. Current job postings at the Erkheim site cover production, carpentry and heating and sanitary installation roles.
Product: Prefabricated timber-frame houses (Holzfertighäuser) with individual architectural design, including multi-family houses and renovation or extension projects.
