About Awacloud
AwaCloud publishes the AWA framework, a set of JavaScript libraries that read, write, convert, sign and check Word, OpenDocument, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and Markdown files. The libraries run in the browser, in a web worker or on a server, with no conversion service to deploy and no third-party runtime dependency. AWA PDF produces PDF/UA-1 accessible files and PAdES signatures and encrypts documents.
The customers are software developers building applications that handle office and PDF documents, including applications used by the public sector. The AWA framework and its tools are free under the Apache-2.0 licence. The company charges one licence per proprietary application that uses its office libraries, with unlimited users and servers.
AwaCloud is a French software publisher founded in 2016, with its headquarters in Jouy, France. Before the document libraries, it built a secure pocket server and an end-to-end encrypted suite for calls, video, messaging and file transfer. It has received the European Seal of Excellence label four times under the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument phase 2 and has filed several patents.
