AUTO1 Group runs a digital platform for buying, selling and financing used cars. Its brands are wirkaufendeinauto.de, which buys privately owned cars through a network of drop-off locations; AUTO1.com, a wholesale platform for professional car dealers; and Autohero, a retail used car dealer. The group also offers Remarketing solutions for partners and Consumer and Merchant Financing.
Customers are private car sellers and buyers and professional car dealers across Continental Europe. The company trades used cars at wholesale and retail level and offers in-house financing to its dealer partners and consumers. It reports more than 60,000 active dealers and operations in 30+ markets.
AUTO1 Group was founded in 2012 by Christian Bertermann and Hakan Koç and listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 2021. The company reported 8,600 employees at the end of 2025 and revenue of €8.2bn in 2025. Current openings are for vehicle preparation, automotive mechatronics and paint roles at production sites in Ketzin and Hemau, Germany.
