About Audio Codecs
Audio Codecs develops Skylark, a digital audio codec for real-time wireless transmission, designed for radio microphones. It is built for low latency, audio quality at modest bit rates and resilience to transmission errors, with low encoder demands to preserve transmitter battery life. Skylark is available on a variety of DSP platforms.
The codec is used by digital wireless microphone manufacturers and targets live performance and program production applications, including in-ear monitor links. The company is a software and technology provider to these equipment makers.
Audio Codecs Ltd was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Belfast, United Kingdom. Its team includes engineers who have worked on audio compression since the early 1990s. Skylark V2.0 was announced in August 2025.
Product: Skylark, a digital audio codec for low-latency, error-resilient wireless audio transmission, available on several DSP platforms.
