Arztbesuche.de runs a private doctor emergency service in Berlin. Patients book a house call online or by phone, either immediately or for a preferred time, and a doctor visits them at home, at the office or in a hotel room. Doctors can examine patients, take tests or blood samples, prescribe medication and physiotherapy, and issue sick notes. Follow-up calls are made some hours later or the next day.

Patients are mainly privately insured people and self-paying patients. Privately insured patients usually have the costs covered, while self-payers are billed per the official fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ), typically between 150 € and 250 € for a thorough visit. Invoices are checked by the Privatärztliche Verrechnungsstelle (PVS) in Berlin. Statutory insurance does not cover the visits. Tourists, expats and visitors to Berlin are also served.
