Aquabyte

Aquabyte develops AI-based camera systems and a data portal for fish farming. Its products include the Hydra 360, a combined fish health and feeding camera with seven self-cleaning lenses and integrated sonar, and the Hammerhead camera for submerged net pens. Software modules cover weight and biomass estimation, automatic sea lice counting and prediction, real-time welfare monitoring, appetite forecasting for feeding, and fish behaviour.

Its customers are fish farming operators who raise salmon in net pens. The portal turns camera data into decision support for daily production, and the company offers dedicated customer success and insight teams. The website states that its systems produce more than one million images per day and that over 800 systems are deployed in net pens.

Aquabyte was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Laksevåg, Norway. It started in the Norwegian salmon industry and now has customers in the largest aquaculture markets. The company has announced a partnership with the investment firm Vitruvian Partners.
