About americanacademy.de
The American Academy in Berlin is a private, independent, nonpartisan center for advanced study in the arts and humanities, social sciences and public policy. It hosts Berlin Prize fellows from the United States for semester-long independent projects at the Hans Arnhold Center on Lake Wannsee, and presents lectures, readings and performances for German audiences. Its library holds over 9,000 volumes.
Its customers are American scholars, writers, artists, composers and journalists who receive Berlin Prize fellowships, and the German and US audiences attending its public events. The Academy awards roughly two dozen fellowships each year and funds them through tax-deductible gifts from individuals, foundations and companies. Fellows receive a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare and accommodation.
The Academy was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Berlin, with staff in New York as well. It is currently hiring for a Senior Hospitality Manager and an Assistant, Library Service, both based in Berlin.
