Ambulance DZS

Ambulance DZS a.s. provides non-emergency patient transport by ambulance (dopravní zdravotní služba) in the Czech Republic. Its website lists about 75 ambulances, a dispatch service open around the clock, and transport between homes, hospitals, medical facilities and care homes.

Customers are patients whose transport is contracted under health insurance, and self-paying patients who are not entitled to ambulance transport through insurance. The company says it has contracts with all health insurers and also serves public-sector and private organisations. Self-payer prices are obtained from the dispatch centre.

The company was founded in 1991 as Baukomplex a.s. and took over district patient transport services in the 1990s, starting in Havlíčkův Brod. It joined the Falck group in 2014 and was renamed Falck Emergency a.s. In December 2021 it was acquired by Ambulance solutions s.r.o. and renamed Ambulance DZS a.s. Its central dispatch is in Havlíčkův Brod, and the registered seat is listed in Praha. It currently advertises full-time ambulance driver positions in Benešov, Kutná Hora and Cheb.
