About Akivi
AKIVI is an anatomy learning application for the human body, available on web, iOS and Android. It offers lessons organised into 12 anatomical systems, each with videos, summary sheets and multiple-choice questions, plus 3D dissection views and a set of timed quizzes. Google Cardboard support lets a learner's smartphone be used as a virtual reality headset for stereoscopic video.
The app is aimed at students in health sciences and at medical and paramedical professionals in initial or continuing training. Course content is produced with French anatomists, and the bank includes 2,000 questions with commentary. AKIVI moved to a freemium model in September 2023.
The company was founded in 2022 and is registered in France, with its headquarters in Gennes-Val-de-Loire. The project was created by Dr Florian Bernard, an anatomy lecturer at the Faculté de Santé d'Angers and a neurosurgeon at the CHU d'Angers.
