About Actimed Therapeutics
Actimed Therapeutics develops drugs for cachexia and other muscle wasting conditions. Its lead candidate, S-pindolol benzoate (ACM-001.1), a new salt of S-pindolol, is in clinical development for cancer-related cachexia and for muscle wasting associated with GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy. The pipeline also includes S-oxprenolol (ACM-002), whose global rights the company reacquired in 2026.
The company targets patients with cancer-related cachexia and patients losing lean muscle mass during weight-loss treatment with GLP-1 receptor agonists. A Phase 2a proof-of-concept trial of S-pindolol in cancer cachexia reported promising results, and a Phase 2b/3 programme (IMPACT) is planned in non-small cell lung and colorectal cancers. A Phase 2a study in obese adults during and after semaglutide therapy completed recruitment in September 2026.
Actimed was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Ascot, United Kingdom. A US Investigational Drug Application for S-pindolol and the IMPACT studies has received FDA approval. The company was co-founded by Professors Andrew Coats and Stefan Anker, both cachexia researchers, and is led by a management team and board.
Product: Investigational drugs S-pindolol benzoate (ACM-001.1) and S-oxprenolol (ACM-002) for cachexia and muscle wasting.
