About Acquia

Acquia sells a digital experience platform built on Drupal, the open-source CMS. Its products include Acquia Source, which combines content management, digital asset management, governance and AI-powered site building; Acquia Cloud Platform for hosting; Acquia DAM; and Acquia Web Governance for accessibility, quality and SEO scanning. Services include managed Drupal hosting and composable front-end development.

Customers are marketing and IT teams at enterprises, governments and universities, including Warner Music Group and Stanford University. Acquia sells software subscriptions and professional services; Web Governance is offered as annual SaaS subscriptions with unlimited users. It works with more than 700 partners.

The business dates its start to 2007, when Dries Buytaert co-founded it; the French legal entity was founded in 2012. Its headquarters are registered in Paris, and it also has offices in Boston, Sydney, Reading, Tokyo, Heredia and Ballerup. Investment firm Vista Equity Partners acquired a majority stake in 2019. The company reports more than 1,000 employees globally.
