About Aarethun
Aarethun AS operates Lærdal Holiday and Leisure Park in Lærdalsøyri on the Sognefjord in Norway. The park offers cabins, apartments and economy rooms, a campsite with about 100 pitches, the Strandsitjaren café and restaurant, the Motorikpark playground, and a bicycle rental station. Its Lærdal Show Theater hosts shows and concerts in heated tents for up to 450 people.
Its customers are holiday guests, with about 75% of its roughly 45,000 yearly visitors being foreign guests. Revenue comes from accommodation, camping, food and drink, bicycle rental and sales, and event tickets. The company also imports and distributes BERG Toys go-karts and trampolines, a business it has run since 2008.
The business was founded in 2010 as Aarethun AS, when it moved from the earlier Lærdal Holiday and Leisure Park ANS. The Aarethun family has operated the campsite since 1993. The headquarters is in Lærdal. For the 2024 season, the company listed seasonal openings for a receptionist and customer service representative, a housekeeper and cleaner, and a waiter at its restaurant.
