Volkstheater Wien is a German-speaking repertory theatre in Vienna that stages plays, new productions and premieres, with an ensemble of actors and guest directors. Its program also includes the Volkstheater Bezirke format, which takes productions into Vienna's outer districts, and the Rote Bar venue for additional performances, events and concerts.

The theatre sells tickets for its productions directly through its website, with prices listed per performance, and runs an open-house approach that invites Viennese residents to take part in shaping its program. Its current artistic director, Jan Philipp Gloger, has led the house since the 2025/26 season.

The theatre was founded in 1889 as a counterpart to the Burgtheater and is located in Vienna. The website states that the company has about 200 employees and around 360 events per season across the main house and other Vienna venues. It is currently advertising a full-time stage technician position (Bühnentechnik) and a ticket office role (Kartenservice).
