Mintos operates an online investment platform where users invest in loans, bonds, ETFs, stocks, real estate and crypto ETPs, and can hold cash in a Smart Cash product. Users can choose automated portfolios (Core and Custom Loans) or hand-pick individual investments, and can sell investments on a Secondary Market.

The customers are individual investors in the EU, and the site cites 700k+ registered users and €800m+ in assets under management. The site describes low, transparent fees, a €1 minimum start, commission-free stock and ETF trading, and bond purchases from €50. Mintos states it has been licensed since 2021 as an investment firm under MiFID and is authorized to provide investment services across the EU.

Mintos states that client cash and securities are held separately from its own assets and are protected up to €20,000 by the investor compensation scheme. Job listings on the site include roles in Riga, Latvia and Berlin, Germany, covering engineering, product, risk, AML compliance and client relationship management.
