Smíchovská teplárenská a.s. is developing a community heating and cooling system for the Smíchov district of Prague 5. The planned system uses water-to-water heat pumps and the energy of the Vltava river, with floating ComPon energy units placed on the water near the Smíchov bank, a new heat distribution network, and full digitalization of the process.

The planned customers are households in historic buildings, local businesses and industrial operations, and new developments in the area. Customers first confirm their interest in connecting, after which the company prepares a connection project and building-permit documentation; binding heat supply contracts are signed later. The company is wholly owned by JN Infra a.s.

The company states that it was founded in 2023 and that the project has been developed since 2022. It is based in Prague. According to the website, documentation for the building permit of the backbone distribution network is being finalized, and construction is planned to start from 2027. The website describes the team as experts in heat supply and energy, and lists a board of directors, an energy engineer and an investment director.
