HLM Architects

HLM Architects is a design practice offering architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, masterplanning and urban design, conservation, sustainability, digital services, spatial data analytics, social value consulting and industrialised construction (MMC) work.

Its website names education, healthcare, residential, public infrastructure, defence and hospitality as sectors it works in. Published project examples include the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering for King's College London, the Health Sciences Library at the University of Leeds and the Radisson Blu Sheffield. The website does not describe its fee model.

HLM was founded in 1964, and its website names David Hutchison, Graham Locke and Tony Monk as founders. Since 2020 it has been an employee-owned trust, which the careers page describes as 100% employee ownership. It reports more than 250 members of staff across eight studios in the UK and Ireland: Belfast, Sheffield, Cardiff, London, Plymouth, Dublin, Glasgow and Birmingham. Current vacancies include environmental designers, landscape architects, a hospitality sector lead, an in-house solicitor, a BIM manager and a document controller.
