About Czech Vanadium
Czech Vanadium, a.s. produces ferrovanadium (FeV), an iron-vanadium alloy used to strengthen and harden steel. It also makes aluminothermic slag (Al2O3) and technical alumina (TOH), a fine material collected from filters in the ferrovanadium reaction chamber. Products are offered in several grain sizes and packaging, from 5 kg bags to 1 MT bigbags.
Customers are steel producers; the company states it supplies leading global steel manufacturers. Aluminothermic slag, a by-product of ferrovanadium production, is sold for use in refractory materials, and the company also offers used refractory concrete made from its slag and a calcium aluminate binder.
The company was founded in 1993 as NIKOM a.s. through privatization of the ferrovanadium division of former Kovohutě Mníšek and is based in Mníšek pod Brdy, about 30 km southwest of Prague. It was part of EVRAZ Group from 2007 to 2024; since February 2024 its sole shareholder has been METCO LTD. The careers page lists openings for a production line operator and a slag mill operator.
Product: Ferrovanadium (FeV) alloy, aluminothermic slag (Al2O3) and technical alumina (TOH) sold in bulk and packaged forms.
